Here at Jeanette Warne Catering, we believe that we all have a responsibility for improving our shared world; therefore, we are deeply committed to sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices in all of our classes and events.
We continually examine all areas of our business to ensure that we have sound policies and systems that reduce our carbon footprint.
For example:
- Local markets are our first choice for produce and supplies; allowing us to support our local economy, minimize transportation and offer fresh, seasonal produce to you, our client.
- Our disposable service-ware is made from biodegradable or recycled bamboo, sugar cane, corn starch and corn silk – reducing the volume of harmful plastics in our landfills.
- Our priority is to maximize the value of your event, so careful calculations take place to eliminate or greatly reduce waste. Leftover food is donated to organizations at client's approval.
This year, we are focusing on our next green challenge which is to become 100% paper-less! So far, we heavily utilize online digital format forms, email and Paypal payment system. Our one standing challenge in this direction is to implement a paper-less recipe handout system.
